Project description
Homeowners were overwhelmed by the number of flooring materials, styles, brands, price ranges, and technical specifications available. Most customers did not know how factors such as pets, children, moisture, foot traffic, stairs, furniture, maintenance, and installation conditions should influence their decision. Flooring professionals also spent significant time asking repetitive discovery questions before they could recommend suitable products.
I designed and developed FloorMatch AI as a guided flooring discovery and recommendation platform. The application takes homeowners through five structured stages covering their reason for replacing the floor, lifestyle, design preferences, priorities, budget, and project logistics. A combination of business rules and AI evaluates every answer, calculates product suitability, and generates a personalized shortlist of flooring options. Each recommendation explains why the product is suitable, expected durability, maintenance requirements, budget range, moisture resistance, and lifestyle compatibility. Users can save their progress, compare recommendations, share their results, and request a consultation, while flooring businesses receive a complete and structured lead profile through their CRM.
