Project description
Post-surgery patients frequently had questions about pain, swelling, medication, mobility, wound care, nutrition, sleep, and general wellbeing. Clinical teams could not contact every patient daily, making it difficult to identify changing symptoms or concerns between scheduled appointments.
I developed ResurgeMed as a clinician-guided recovery assistant rather than an autonomous diagnostic system. Patients receive scheduled check-ins based on their procedure and recovery stage. The assistant asks approved wellbeing questions, records responses, and answers general recovery questions using a controlled clinical knowledge base. A configurable rules engine identifies red-flag responses and sends an email or dashboard alert to the responsible clinician. Emergency symptoms trigger clear instructions to contact emergency services or the medical provider immediately.
