A real-time private basketball pool application that assigns unique numbers to ten players, tracks ten scoring checkpoints, calculates each winner automatically, and maintains a transparent $110 payout ledger.
The private basketball pool was previously difficult to manage because the organizer had to assign ten unique numbers manually, monitor every media timeout, calculate the combined score, identify the winning digit, record winners, and track payouts. A missed checkpoint or incorrect score calculation could create confusion and disagreements among players.
I designed and developed March Madness 110 as a responsive real-time pool management application. The commissioner creates a game, invites ten players, and assigns each participant one unique number from zero through nine using a controlled random draw. The application tracks four media timeouts in the first half, halftime, four media timeouts in the second half, and the final score. At each checkpoint, the system adds both team scores and uses the final digit of the combined score as the winning number. Media-timeout and halftime winners receive $10, while the final winner receives $20. Every checkpoint, score, winning digit, player, and payout is saved in a transparent game ledger.
