Project description
Preparing a structured debate requires researching opposing viewpoints, defining participant roles, organizing arguments, maintaining a logical conversation flow, and ensuring that both sides receive a fair opportunity to respond. Students, educators, researchers, and discussion groups often spend significant time preparing this material before a debate can begin.
I developed Debate Companion as a Streamlit application powered by Python and GPT models. Users enter a debate topic, configure the proponent, opponent, and moderator, and choose whether each participant should be controlled by AI or supplied manually. During the debate, the application manages speaking order, generates contextual responses, maintains the discussion history, and uses an AI moderator to keep the conversation balanced, relevant, and structured.
